2019 Fall Choral Concert

The fall choral concert will feature ensembles including the new soprano/alto choir under the director of Dr. Sam Barbera, the “Free Radicals”, the new tenor/bass choir under the direction of Dr. Scott Tuomi and the Pacific University Chamber Singers under the direction of Dr. Scott Tuomi. Literature for the “Free Radicals”includes “The Stars and with the Voyager” by Eleanor Daley, “Swing Down Chariot” by Andre Thomas, “Hallelujah” by Leonard Cohen and in celebration of the impending movie release, “Harriet Tubman” by Rollow Dillworth.
The chamber singers will perform many new works in a a diverse program for including “Fyre! Fyer!” by English Madrigalist, Thomas Morley, “One boy told me” by Timothy Takach, “Contre Qui Rose” from the “Chanson des Roses” by Morten Lauridsen, “The Runner” by Salem composer Joshua Rist and “Jubilant Day” by Portland composer, Judy Rose. The highlight of the evening will be the West Coast premiere of “At That Hour When All Things Have Repose" Pacific University composer and professor, Timothy Stephens which was commissioned by the University of Dublin Choral Scholars and premiered at Carnegie Hall in March of this year!
